The great looking village pub - Tintern Abbey

The Village of Tintern

Tintern is a beautiful little village situated in South East Wales just over the river from the border with England. Tintern is surrounded by fabulous Countryside. We visited on a snowy December day just before Christmas, the forest drive into Tintern was simply amazing - the snow had settled on all the trees providing a real life Winter Wonderland.

Tintern Abbey

Tintern Abbey is by far one of the main Tourist attractions to this area. The extensive remains of the Cistercian Abbey give an impression of how grand the Abbey would have been in it's day. The Abbey is situated alongside the beautiful River Wye and has been the inspiration of many Artists over the years.

The Wye Valley

Tintern is situated alongside the River Wye in the Wye Valley. The Wye Valley is a designated Area of Outstanding National Beauty, the whole area stretches 58 miles alongside the banks of the river Wye. There are many riverside walking trails - some of which start at Tintern which allow you to take in the magnificent scenery.

One of my favourite stopping off places for coffee after a visit to Stella's Books!Great pictures - I've never seen it in the snow.
