Welcome To Turkey! Come Inside...

by H-TownJourneyman - last update: Feb 12, 2007

Without a doubt, Turkey has become one of my favorite places to visit in all of the world. I think some of the aspects of Turkey that intrigue me are the incredible mix of things to see & do, it's move toward a more modernized culture while retaining a traditional ambiance, and of course, the charming and lively people. I find it amazing that as much time as I have spent in Turkey, and how many wonderful memories I have acquired from my time there, I have really only scratched the surface of exploring the country. Turkey is truly a land full of exciting things to discover and enjoy.

Most of my travels to certain locations have consisted of one category or another, whether it was a relaxing time of snorkeling and sunbathing at the beach, or marching along the concrete boulevards of an urban metropolis. But when I think of my journeys through Turkey, I really cannot group them into a precise type of trip. I have been able to have so many varied experiences here, wherever I have been. Fascinating historical sites, lovely natural scenery & beaches, bustling city-life, and incredible culture & people are just some of the things I have seen and enjoyed. Yet along with all of this, Turkey also just has a feel unlike anywhere else I have visited.

The biggest thing I have taken from traveling is Turkey is one thought - "When can I go back ?" Even the places I have already visited, whether it was walking the streets of Istanbul, or relaxing on the Mediterranean beaches of Alanya and Antalya, I always felt like there was something else I hadn't seen or done. I hope to make as many trips back to this remarkable country that time and money will permit! And if you are asking whether I would recommend it to you, please read this again! :)
