The Beautiful City Upon The Vtlava

by H-TownJourneyman - last update: Feb 20, 2006

Prague

Old-Town Square
When I arrived to Prague and stepped off the plane, I had visions and ideas already in my head from pictures and stories I had seen and read. Well, they were all very true. This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in all of the world. But it is the atmosphere, this feeling that you get and is all around you that really makes this such a special place. The setting of the city along the Vtlava River, the streets and the squares, the churches and the castles, all create an ambiance unlike anywhere else I have ever been. An old, historic city with a wonderful old world charm, within a very modern world. It most certainly lives up to it's billing as a beautiful city, but it's the mind-state that Prague put me in that made it such an excellent place to visit!

My night life in Prague was more theatre & restaurants so maybe next time a few clubs won't go amiss but then they're probably full of foreigners :-)
