Springfield is a big town, or a small city, depending on who you ask. We're about an hour away from Branson, although I prefer the lakes surrounding Branson as opposed to the town itself. We're also known as the headquarters for Bass Pro Shops. As a self-respecting local, I don't go near the place myself. |
No shortage of good restaurants There is no shortage of good restaurants in Springfield. The downtown area is really thriving and my favorite places downtown are Agrario, Maria's, and the Mudhouse Coffee shop. Check the restaurant section for more. There are many places to eat scattered throughout the area.
A little known fact to outsiders: Cashew chicken was created here, not in China! |
Is there anything to do? I work for a performing arts venue, so I can say that between us and the other venues in town, there are lots of cultural activities in town. Try the first Friday Art Walk on the first Friday of each month, located downtown. |
