-PS- ?? PS stands for Pau Siong, which is my first name. My last name is Lee. In chinese we put the last name first, becoming Lee Pau Siong. And people normally call you your first name instead of your last name. |
PS in brief... PS is actually a guy, of course, and have been on this earth for more than 24 years... He grown up in a small Malay fishing town in MARANG, Negeri Terengganu, Malaysia. PS's parents manage a grocery shop in Marang and he has 1 elder sister and 2 younger sisters. |
Long long ago... There is a little boy, PS, who like to played around with the Malay kids as most of the populity there were Malay people. Remember when he was about 5, his neighbour's little Malay girl was his best friend, named Liza. Since then, he speak local Malay very fluently, and you can't hardly tell whether he was a Malay boy just from his voice.
At 6, he went into kindergarden in Kuala Terengganu together with another boy also from his hometown. They played a lot and had a lot of fun together especially during their journey to and back from the school. But then the family of this friend shifted to another place once they finished the kindergarden.
Primary school was the most naughties moment for PS. He played very hard, together with his school mates. They played ping pong, seft-made game, basketball, bola katok (softball), etc... In class he was one of the naughties student, always been scolded by the teachers. And sometime when there was a stay back time, he used to take shower in the middle of the school garden under the hot sun, using the hose for watering the plants...
Once getting into the secondary school, he became one of the top students of the classes. He worked hard, and believed to be well-known among the teachers in the school. As the time passed, he started to like disobeying the rules, doing things that others don't, etc.... But still, he worked hard, and play even harder! The best part of the disobeying time was that it left deeper impact and longer in the memory -- went to the cyber cafe to play game during the school time, went out for meals, chasing the lizard, etc... But of course the good things were still fresh in the memory -- helping the school to clean the mud after the landslide, volunteering for the mural drawing on the school new building, helping to clean the school fish pond, dedicating time to publish the school magazine, etc... |
Not very long ago... College time was a bit dull for PS... nothing much left in the memory. Choosing the course in college mainly is because the title for the course seems longer and more 'advance' than others. Programming was very blur for PS initially, but it got more and more interesting as he managed to master the beautiful part of programming - designing and creating his own program using his imagination...
Believing in his friends, he failed one of his credit hour for the extra activity in college. Probably only PS and his another 2 friends failed this credit hour for the first time in the college history! Then they went to take the dancing class in order to fulfill the failed credit hour....
The best part of higher education is the time when PS went to Sheffield, UK for 3 months to finish his degree. This program is actually a link between the local college in Malaysia and the university in Sheffield. He started to open his eyes to the new world, to a place he never actually dream that he will ever be. Different culture, different climate, different people, everything is different! But he liked it!! The way the people study, the way people solving problem, their attitute towards people or things, the climate, the house, everything.... And he had a bunch of fellows who helped and enjoyed a lot among each other. The total experiences in UK are one of the most unforgettable moment in his life! |
Friends, and special one... He met a lot of new friends along his life time, especially in the college time. He like to joke around, talking nonsense and very easy to get along with others... this is probably the problem with his unmatured attitute.
Friends come and go, some only for a short while, some while in the childhood or teenager, some only for discussing study or working issue, and all kinds of people. But he managed to meet someone who is meant to be the lifetime partner, his current girlfriend -- Mong Shin, Wong!! They share a lot of interests, and some totally different. People said Gemini is a person who needs a partner with totally different thinking in some area to get along with for a long period. His girlfiend really is that person! Even though sometime they see each other everyday, but that everyday seem to be a fresh new start! Some people even guess that they had just started the relationship, which actually had been together more than 4 years.
Of course there's up time and down time when they were together. So far as can tell, there was less than 3 majors down time between both of them. Most of the time they were in happy mode... PS believe that a relationship has to be as fresh as possible. New happening & new surprise, once in a while, are the main reason to keep the relationship strong. Don't always do the same romantic or surprise to regularly or else it will become not fresh anymore... Anyway, PS definetely has a lot of new things and new surprises waithing to be shared with his girlfriend! |
Travelling.... Since a child time, i always fancied those traveller with a backpack on the back, travelling around freely, and especially those lonely travellers! I can recall my first backpack with another 5 friends was when i was 18. We don't have much ispire from other people as people here don't really do much backpacking. People only travel by car in a family or following a group of tourists with a travel guide.
My first experience backpacking was when i did the Paris, Rome trip. While in Sheffield, i was inspired by all those cheap air tickets, and cheap hostels easily available through the internet. Careful planning is crucial as you might ends up somewhere you don't even know where it is. You might also need some backup plan in case you gone out of the original path. I experienced it, and even lost a wallet as we took the wrong train while heading to the airport in Paris.
No matter what's the obstructs (except money!), i like backpacking very much! I like the free and easy way of travelling, independent of the timing, go far more than what the normal tour will go, and especially it is very budget! In the future, if there is a chance, surely i will go travel around to see the world together with my girlfriend! |
