"I'm in Gimmelwald!" | Gimmelwald has nice views |
In order to be a devout Stevesian, you must make a pilgrimage to Vernazza at least once in your life. But there are lesser destinations, such as Gimmelwald, that allow the granting of indulgences (e.g., visiting a McDonalds while on the road, bringing a second bag, watching Samantha Brown... well, maybe not the last one). We arrived in the afternoon, so the pilgrims were probably on the hiking trail. And why not? it was a nice day. |
| | Hotel Mittaghorn There it is. The hotel with that special sign. Nobody was around though, but that's not too surprising given the time of day. |
| | Summary Gimmelwald is pretty enough. It seems like an authentic rural village pleasantly situated on a scenic cliff. I was pleased to see it wasn't swamped with tourists like Vernazza. But, nice as it was, we had to move on. |
