Small Coastal Village

Skjervøy is a tiny village north of Tromsø. It is one of the many villages visited by the coastal steamer daily. It's a reminder that these coastal steamers are much more than a tourist sightseeing excursion; they're the lifeline of many a tiny community on the route.

The Dock

It's incongruous to see this huge dock to accommodate the coastal steamer when the village is so small. Sometimes, tourism has strange effects...

    It was interesting for me how Norwegians tend to use traditional costumes on certain dates and occasions like any other clothes on the street. Would be strange here.
