About 10 years ago, I had this great idea. I could use my personal experiences to write a travel book. It would be a sort of list of tips, tricks, and off-the-beaten-path destinations for a new brand of independent tourist to follow. Unfortunately, Rick Steves beat me to it by about 15 years. Oh well.

Here, I'll post some miscellaneous advice that won't fit in any individual location. I'll also post a few travelogues of previous trips, which with luck will whet your appetite to travel.

On this page, I've posted some complete journals of past trips. Right now, I have a travelogue of my 2003 European honeymoon and a travelogue of my 2004 European trip. I hope to add travelogues from other trips in the future, most notably my 2006 trip from Switzerland to the North Cape via Denmark and Sweden.

I've decided to re-vamp this page, so more content should be coming soon. It will focus on travel to and around Europe, as well as destinations within Europe to visit. The tips will be general in nature, with links to websites with more details: sometimes a page of my own, sometimes a VT travel guide, and sometimes an external site. Stay tuned as I slowly add content!
