"ZAGREB, THE CAPITAL OF CROATIA" Zagreb by Arkeolog
Zagreb Travel Guide: 1,850 reviews and 4,564 photos
It's a historical city with full of museums and libraries. Mestrovic Museum, Naive Art Museum, Mimara Museum, Archaeological Museum are must see places. Upper Town Grondji Grad is a complete must see.
Zagreb used to be overshadowed by Belgrade when the region was part of Yugoslavia, but as the new capital of Croatia, it is now a self-confident city that boasts historical artwork, monuments and a colourful nightlife.
It's a colorful market in the heart of the capital. You can see stands full of with fruits, vegetables, handcrafts, toys, ties, flowers and souvenirs. take your time and enjoy Dolac when you in Zagreb...
Croatia is a lucky country that it has Ivan Mestrovic's works. After my trip to Zagreb, thank God i met the masterpieces of famous Croat sculptor Ivan Mestrovic. He is amazing, he is a genious. My favourite works of Mestrovic are "well of life" ( which is right front of the National Theatre of Croatia) and "remembering". There is another one as well but i forgot the name of it :(Famous Croat scupltor Mestrovic was a talented artist and he did so many masterpieces for different cities of the world; USA,Rome, Paris, Belgrad, Vatican etc. Below you see "well of life" it is my favourite one.

Nice pages and pictures. We wished we could have stayed longer for our visit, such a beautiful city!
IVAN MESTROVIC'S works of art are so impressive and I am glad you honoured him here - wish I could make wood carvings (is it wood or bronze?) like that but I can't even hammer a nail properly, LOL...and I can't tell difference between wood and metal, haha
Beautiful carvings on the cathedral. Interesting photos & tips Bora.
Good tips! I have not visited yet Zagreb but should be some day soon!
Lovely Zagreb page! St. Mark Church and St. Stephen's Cathedral look impressive. Thanks for visiting our Czech Republic page. ~ho & pang
Passionate red umbrellas in the Dolac market Bora.
Zagreb will always be remembered by me as a city of friends, where we met Boris, Zdenka, Hrvojka and Martina. Martin
Great photos here too
