Temple of Zeus, Aizanoi.

This marble-built temple dedicated to Zeus from the reign of the Roman emperor Hadrian has survived almost intact. Aizanoi became an episcopal see during the early years of Christianity and this temple was converted into a church. It dates from the 2nd century.

Well preserved and looks fantastic. You can see remains of stadium, market, bridges and anciet houses in Aizanoi. You can feel the real village ambience in Cavdarhisar. I like Aizanoi.

Fondest Memory: Aizanoi Antik Kenti

Kütahya şehir merkezine 57 km. uzaklıkta Çavdarhisar İlçesi'ndedir. En parlak dönemini ikinci ve üçüncü yüzyılda yaşayan kent, Bizans Döneminde piskoposluk merkezi olmuştur. Kentte Zeus adına inşa edilen Anadolu'nun en iyi korunmuş tapınağı yer alır. Ayrıca büyük bir tiyatro ile buna bitişik stadyum, biri mozaikli olmak üzere iki hamam ve gymnasium, Kocaçay üzerinde iki adedi halen kullanılır durumda olan beş köprü ile antik baraj, borsa binası, sütunlu caddeler, nekropol alanları ve Meter Steune'nin kutsal mağarası bulunmaktadır. Kentte halen Alman Enstitüsü adına yapılan arkeolojik kazılar devam etmektedir.

Water Börek is one of the oldest and traditional dishe.s of Turkish Cuisine. It has a deserved fame all over the country because of its delicious and distinctive flavor. Since it is time consuming to prepare, it is a treat to serve this dish for the honourable guests at dinner parties. Feta cheese can be used instead of white cheese. Fresh chapped dill can be used together with parsley. Ground meat fılling can be used instead of cheese fılling. Each layer is cooked separately in boiling water one at a time. Since it is time consuming and complicated to prepare, lasagna can be substituted for home-made layers of dough for convenience. The result may not be as pleasant as very thin home-made dough layers. But it might be wort trying
