A GREAT WAY TO FEEL ISTANBUL, DO WHAT A TURKISH POET ORHAN VELI KANIK(1914-1950) SAYS
I am listening to Istanbul, intent, my eyes closed;
At first there blows a gentle breeze
And the leaves on the trees
Softly flutter or sway;
Out there, far away,
The bells of water carriers incessantly ring;
I am listening to Istanbul, intent, my eyes closed.
Istanbul looks colorful in Springtime. Flowers blossom and parks & gardens become delightful places.
- In a nutshell:Much more than Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace

Heard some great stories about Istanbul.It reminds me a bit of New DELHI but looks far more orderly.
I visited the exhibition "De Byzance à Istanbul" in Paris last November. It is fantastic and has amazing pieces. I'm glad to see it has arrived in Istanbul, its original home! Cheers from NYC.
Some fantastic tips here, really detailed! I know I'm going to have to make another trip some day!
Hi and tx for the various page visits. This is a good informative page on a place that's definitely on my must visit list. Cheers, John.
Bora, Had to come back to your Istanbul pages just to dream of being able to walk the Bazaar and Spice Market. Again, wonderful tips and photos. Larry
Beautiful photos and detail - hope to see it all one day - but, especially Topkapi as I heard of it long ago. Ciao, Carol <(•¿•)>
I was surprised to learn that the Pera Museum has a piano that was once owned by Maria Callas. There is certainly a lot to see in Istanbul! I went up in a balloon once in Paris, and had a great view.
