Prested Hall: Just outside of Coggeshall - Prested Hall

Just outside of Coggeshall, in Kelvedon, is a charming inn on a beautiful lush estate called "Prested Hall." I suppose it could be called a Hotel. Breakfast is included in your stay. It is both charming and elegant. They have weddings on the weekends, when they will only have rooms available to people in the wedding party. So weeknights are the only nights open. If you have the opportunity to stay here, I'd recommend it. I've stayed here one night and it was a relaxing night away. The breakfast was delicious and the grounds were so lovely, with moorhens, deer and rabbits wandering around. A great escape.

If you are unable to stay directly in Coggeshall while visiting, I'd highly recommend Prested Hall. It is only about three miles away.

Unique Qualities: There is a full gym, swimming pool, and tennis courts on the premises.

White Hart Hotel: The only Hotel in Coggeshall The White Hart Hotel Review

This hotel is the only hotel we have in Coggeshall. It is in the Center of town and it is where all the locals go for a nice meal out. They offer both pub meals and have formal dining as well. We go here for meals quite frequently and are satisfied with the food there. The service could be a bit speedier, but it is a small village, not a big city and you kind of expect that sort of thing. When we got married in Coggeshall, our guests stayed overnight in the White Hart. Most of them said they liked the hotel.

The building is charming and dates back to 1420. They have a beautiful lounge with beamed vaulted ceilings. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I would have no problem recommending the White Hart as a place to eat or stay overnight.

Unique Qualities: The building the hotel is located in was built in the 1400's. There are beams and vaulted ceilings. Lots of old world charm. Warm and friendly pub atmosphere.
