The Maltesers

Welcome to Malta.
The maltese islands are made up of an archipelago of 3 islands. Malta Gozo and Comino. The biggest of them is Malta followed by Gozo and then Comino. The latter has a population of 4 people and this cannot be increased as they are brothers and sisters!!!
The islands are known for the sun, sea and history. Malta has been populated for the last 7 millennia and is prooved by the several free standing neolitic temples around the islands which are older than the Pyramids in Egypt. We have 2 official languages which are Maltese and English. Maltese has a semitic basis which sounds pretty close to arabic but it also contains influences from the other European languages. After 1091 we always had a european king or order as the head of the islands whom they all left a significant mark on our spoken maltese language. Therefore you can easily pick up some words if you know Italian, French or Spanish.
If you re thinking about the nightlife, don t worry that you ll end up doing nothing. There are plenty of places for big night outs. Paceville, Bugibba and Marsascala are the main locations for such events and are always full of people.
Every time of the year is good to visit the islands. Of course summer is more crowded but there are also more activities around. These vary from cultural (visit Zurrieq page if you are interested) to social ones.
