Ebbw Vale is a classic scruffy Valley town and since the closure of the massive steel works in 2002 the Town itself is rather forlorn, but Ebbw Vale does have some of the best forest scenery to be seen, especially the Cwmcarn Forest drive which is open Easter to August.
Even though the 1992 Garden Festival at Ebbw Vale was designed to regenerate this part of Wales, it is now nothing more than a shopping mall.

Forest drive Things to Do (1)

Cwmcarn Forest drive would be great drive for a family which also has a campsite. The drive is about 7or 8 miles long... more travel advice
