| | Some facts Hei my name is Jan and I live in Kiel which is situated in the north of Germany at the Baltic Sea. I'm a student at the University of Kiel and I study Scandinavian languages and literature, Modern German Literature and Film and finally English. I was born in the former GDR in 1986 but after the Berlin Wall fell we moved to the Black Forest in 1992. After graduating from school in 2005 I left my parents house to study in Kiel. I decided to do so because of its closeness to Scandinavia. Thanks to my parents who are very keen on travelling I had the possibility to explore Europe in my early ages and I went on doing so when I got more independent. I think I spent most of my holidays in Norway which is probably the reason I study Scandinavian languages. My parent never travelled to south Europe that's way I had to explore this part of the world by myself. Furthermore, several student exchanges to Spain, France and the UK helped to see places I've never been before. |
My Passions You may think that as a student you don't have the money to travel. Well, your right, but travelling is one of my passions and I save all my money for my trips. My favourite destination is of course Scandinavia because of its unbelievable landscape and nice people. I'm absolutely into foreign languages and I am really keen on learning at least a few sentences from the languages spoken in the countries I am travelling to. Another passion of mine is photography which fits perfectly well with my ambition to travel the world. If you are interested in seeing some of my photos go here | | |
| | Planning the future In 2008 I will spend some time abroad. I will have finished the first part of my studies and so this is the perfect point to go to Norway for an Erasmus term. I hope I can stay ther for a whole year before I'll come back to Kiel to finish my studies. I've actually haven't really thought about what I will be doing in the future. My only big goal is to emigrate to Norway and live there. This is a dream which I am dreaming for a long time now and I'm working on it to be fulfilled. |
