Geography Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, the spanish islands off the coast of Morocco. It's a vulcanic island, El Teide is the largest volcanoe with 3718 m. The first vulcanic mountain ranges arised from the Atlantic about 8 million years ago. The last vulcano eruption was near Santiago del Teide in 1909. The capital city is Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which is also the capital of half of the Canary Islands. The climate is very constant, 20-30 degrees year round and it only rains a couple of time a year.
My Tenerife I first went to Tenerife in January 2007. I was there for a week with my family and we really loved the island. In the summer of 2007 I came back for a month to do volunteer work for the Atlantic Whale Foundation. I went out on the whale boats with the tourists. I took pictures of the dorsal fins and wrote down the behaviour of the whales and dolphins. I also educated the tourists. In november 2007 I came back for one week with my boyfriend and we travelled around the island.

I assume the 22 Euros provide a return ride? Thanks for the information, aquafitter | Andraf Tue Jul 10, 2007 14:52 UTC Nice page. I'm headed to Tenerife in August and I was hoping for more than sun & water. Looking at your page there seems to be more to Tenerife than resorts. |
