"I'm Tamara - fly me" Burgas by CliffClaven

Burgas Travel Guide: 104 reviews and 346 photos

Old Cliffie first visited Burgas more than 35 years ago, when he took a lumbering Russian-built propellor plane from Plovdiv for the short flight to the Black Sea. There was certainly no inducement to flirt with the stewardess, a mini-skirted example of Bulgarian womanhood with legs that made Tamara Press, the famed Russian shot putter of the 1960s, look quite sylphlike in comparison. The aircraft lurched every time she took a step along the aisle, until eventually an exasperated co-pilot stuck his head out of the cockpit and yelled at her to sit down. Old Cliffie ate his stale slab of cake and drank his tepid cup of juice and thought of other things.
