As usual on VT, old Cliffie is going to recommend Holiday Inn. The chain has about a dozen hotels in London, all reasonably priced. Well, reasonably priced for London, where city centre hotels can more or less charge what they want. But old Cliffie also has a brother who is in the hotel business, and he promised to give his brother's prestigious property a mention. Park Lane Hotel. There - happy now, bro?

uglyscot Sat Oct 20, 2007 19:55 UTC Gosh, I remember walking to school in the smog too. Unfortunately most of the railings had been cut off to aid the war effort, so even that aid was missing. Fortunately there wasn't much traffic in out part of Muswell Hill. | DUNK67 Tue Aug 31, 2004 20:59 UTC great page cliffie, can't say i've ever worn a top hat or carried a bale of hay in london though | ZanieOR Fri Mar 26, 2004 03:03 UTC Is that truly a Great Smog photo. Enjoyed your page. Thanks. |
