Old Cliffie spent three intense years in Naples and left with a little red car, a confident command of the local language and a lifetime's experience of the psychological and emotional make-up of the Italian female. Not that it did him any good. He also left with a broken heart when his passionate and lovely Lolita - 'light of my life, fire of my loins' - abandoned him for a summer holiday in Greece with some Romeo with a big Alfa. Old Cliffie - sadder and wiser but smart enough to have one in reserve - packed the little red car and drove for a night and a day to Strasbourg. There he sought solace with a nimble nymphet named Naomi, encountered a year earlier on a sunkissed day in Bulgaria.
