"G'day mate!" Kangaroo Island by CliffClaven
Kangaroo Island Travel Guide: 263 reviews and 706 photos
Matthew Flinders, the British explorer who sailed along the coast of Kangaroo Island on a mapping expedition in 1802, gave the island its name because of the large number of kangaroos he found. Unfortunately for the marsupial inhabitants, his crew clubbed many of them to death and salted the meat for the rest of the voyage. The island was not offically colonised until 1836 and for a while, Kingscote - which even today has barely 2000 inhabitants - was the capital of South Australia. Farming, fishing and tourism are now the mainstays of the island's economy.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks mate for the postcard.
Ah yes, KI is a very pleasant place, but those kangaroos at the Flinders Chase Nat Park can be a b**** nuisance for campers!
cold and windswept with plenty of room and marsupials!
Cliffy on Kangaroo Island, it's hard to imagine. Nice pages. (I'm coming over your way next year, just thought I'd warn you in advance) Cheers.
A week meeting Kangaroos?
G'day Cliff! Loved the photo of kangaroo:-) The Wisteria Lodge Hotel seems to have great views from the windows:-) I'm sure this was a great trip to exotic place.
