ROME - what can I say

by stevemt - last update: Apr 20, 2007

THE ETERNAL CITY

The Old Roman City Wall
I arrived in Rome by air, and for the first time in my life made my own way in to the City, The train station was right at the airport so no hassle.

On arrival at Termni (the Rome Station) my hotel was 5 minutes walk from the station, and walking there gave a a huge feel of the local life.

Rome is fantastic, and I was only able to see a fraction of what I wanted to see in the time I had. - yes its expensive to stay there, but if you are careful and research hotels etc, you can get some good deals, I did. That gave me the extra funds to go to a performance at the Rome Opera that I will never forget.

When we got to the opera to buy tickets it turned out the schedule had changed and there were no more performances that month. It was a little disappointing....
