Queenstown is a resort town in Otago in the south-west of New Zealand's South Island. The town is built around an inlet on Lake Wakatipu, a long thin lake shaped like a staggered lightning bolt, and has spectactular views of nearby mountains.
Queenstown is a lovely place both winter and summer. Summer for the views and winter for the sking.
Unfortunatly, I find Queenstown very tourist orientated, often to the exclusion of the needs, desires and wishes of New Zealanders and the local inhabitants. EWverything seems to be geared to the US tourist and the Asian Tourist.
Having said that, it definatly is worth a visit. |
