The Batu caves are a collection of Hindu shrines within a mountain. There are a huge amount of steps to climb to get there, and even more inside, but its well worth the effort. The caves are working temples so priests are in attendance at all times it is open and the devotees come in numbers, but visitors are very welcome. A number if tours include the Batu Caves in there itinery, so check some of the tour operators if you do not have your own transport A word of warning - do not cary anything in supermarket plastic bags or the resident monkeys will grab them off you thinking it is food

This to me is actually better than the twin towers for the tourist, as you get a 360 degree view with plaques describing what you are seeing at many points. The views from here are amazing, and there are recorded commentaties for hire in various languages as well.

The main mosque in KL is open at various times to visitors. (They close to the public at various times for religious reasons.) You have to remove your footware to enter, but you are welcome to go in, wander around, the only restriction is that you do not disturb the faithful in prayer. In a lower level is the islamic school which you can look down into. The grounds are very tranquil, very serene and peacefull. Its a haven in a very busy city. Recomended for a visit.
