Good local food at Wisma Merdeka - Kota Kinabalu
Restoran Sempelang: Good local food at Wisma Merdeka

This place is in the food court of the Wisma Merderk building/shopping centre.

There are 2 ways to get food,

1/ get a plate of rice and serve your self - you get charged according to what you take

2/ Order a set dish.

Both are really cheap. The food is tasty, filling and satisfying

Comparison: less expensive than average

Airside at airport? Hungry? - Kota Kinabalu
Coffee to Go: Airside at airport? Hungry?

Coffee to go at the airport (airside) is great if due to the bad timing of flights, to check in you had to miss a meal.

This little place is great, has a good range of food and unlike most airport cafe's is reasonably priced.

At 8am I had the Curry Mee (a curry soup with veg, chicken, noodles and tofo) very nice it was too.

European food is available as well as asian.

At Night - Kota Kinabalu

At Night

Night Market behind Craft Market: Local Street Food

This is the way to eat.

Its good, sooo cheap and fun too.

The night market here is food and seafood - direct from the trawlers so the fish is really fresh.

The people also set up food stalls where you pick your fish, they finish cooking it, you sit down and eat with the locals. Rice is provided as well. Really good food. Also available is Sate and chicken wings. The chicken wings are a must, they are messy to eat but well worth it.
