Dresden, a rebuilt city

by stevemt - last update: Apr 23, 2007

Dresden was virtually bombed out during WW2. Since then they have virtually rebuilt the city according to the old plans, using the old masonery, faithfully reconstructing the origional structures.

So far (when I was there, all but 1 cathedral had been rebuilt,) I last year (2006), there was a newspaper articile that announced the reopening of the remaining cathedral.

Its a wonderful city to wander around, and the Meisen factory is not far away either
