Things to see
As well as beer gardens galore, there are a number of sights worth seeing.
The Olympic Stadium
In 1972, the Olympics returned to Germany for the first time since 1936.
With six days left on 5 September the worst tragedy in Olympic history occurred. Eight Arab terrorists stormed into the Olympic village and raided the apartment building that housed the Israeli team. Two athletes were murdered and nine more were seized as hostages. They demanded the release of over 200 Palestinians serving time in Israeli prisons, along with two renowned German terrorists.
A visit here is well worth it to see where teams played sports and sadly, some athletes did not. For commanding views of the city, why not try a meal at the top of the T.V Tower the highest point of Munich in its revolving restaurant.
BMW
Situated next to the former Olympic stadium is the BMW Museum. Open in 1973 this museum is housed in a mushroom shape building and is dedicated to anyone who owns or would like own a BMW. If cars are not your thing the building shape is worth a snap shot anyway.
Glockenspiel
This Gothic building is located in the heart of Marienplatz square. Building started in 1867 and was completed in 1909. The Glochenspiel springs into life at 1200 noon every day it is a show worth watching so people get there early. I recommend you arrive around 30miniutes before to get the vantage point.
