What a City

by mprice14 - last update: Oct 16, 2005

The City

Sydney, what a city! One of the best places ever. You can walk straight though the CBD in 20 minutes, everything is within reach.
The harbour is spectacular but make sure, the first time you go you see the opera house on a nice day. It looks like a dump if its cloudy and miserable but amazing when the sun shines off it.

Ferry rides across the harbour give you the chance to see city skyline from different views or even better get a helicopter ride from the airport right up the coastline, over bondi and some of the other famous beaches. Fly along side the city zand then over the Harbour bridge.

What else to do

So, once you've got bored with all the shops, restaurants and bars (a lot of 24 hour bars) you can walk round Darling Harbour, full of more bars and restaurants but also cinema, museum and chinese water garden amongst others.

Only an hour away you've got the blue mountains, if you can handle a day walking about or a little clser to home you can spend a day in the Botanical gardens with a variety of plants, trees and even a section for the bats (and there is hundreds of them)

Overall

Hotels is Sydney as you would expect are some of the best in the world as well. Although Sydney is a bit dated and parts are slightly run down it is still up there in the list of top sities in the world, you may just have to try harder to appreciate it than others.

One of the best things about Sydney is the public transport. Buy a weekly ticket that will get you on any train or bus and they run anywhere you want to go and really often.

Bondi...not as amazing as you would think (or expect) but still a great beach thats always full of people having fun. Be very careful in the sea!
