A bit about me

I live in a small victorian town in the western mtns. My dreams are traveling different countries every other month...then I wake up, reality sets in on my way to the office and find I actually go once maybe twice a year. In time....until then, this site is great for feeding my dreams.
I love to meet people and learn about their land and culture. My husband and I are true Mainers. It's alittle hard getting him out of the woods, but I've managed to drag him to a few places. As long as the fishing is good...we're all set.

About my hometown

Androscoggin River (great kayaking & fishing)

Bethel is a beautiful victorian town located in the foothills of the western mountains. We are surrounded by various mtn. ranges including Mt. Washington which boasts the highest peak in New England at 6,288ft. Bethel's population's is about 2500 but doubles that in the winter months. Sunday River & Mt. Abram's ski resorts bring in the winter tourists and have a large impact on the local ecomony. Because of our landscape of mountains, rivers lakes & streams,we have become a year round tourist destination. Recently we have added another beautiful golf course to our area. Many people who visit or move to Bethel come here for the many outdoor activities we offer. I will try and name the most popular according to season..

Summer: Fishing,Hiking*Rockhounding*Mtn.&Rock Climbing*Kayaking* Canoeing*Swimin*Biking,Golf.

Fall: Golf(2 world class courses)**Leaf peeping*Moose watching (not really sports, but very popular).

Spring:Skiing***Lawn cleanup & Window washing...(haha)

Winter:Skiing (cross country & downhill)*Snowboarding*Snowmobiling Snowshoeing* Ice climbing.
