GUERNSEY FOR A DAY! | Various sights in Guernsey |
Arrived in Guernsey on Friday... The forecast was bright sunshine at low 60s, hmmm! I guess they had that wrong; cloudy, windy and hovering around the 50's. No coat, a thin sweater and a pair of sunglasses! Great.
Anyway we disembarked the Norwegian Dream at around "10ish"... hence "Guernsey For a Day". A short cruise break from Dover to Guernsey, 2 nights, and a day in Guernsey for a hunded pound (too good to turn down that!). With only 4 hours or so in St.Peter Port this was going to brief... very brief.
Guernsey isn't that big, the second largest of the Channel Islands. Jersey being the largest. There are around only 65,000 people living on Guernsey. It's capital being St.Peter Port; a bustling little port with a natural deep water harbour. Guernsey lies just of the Northern coast of Normandy, France... but it's a British Crown Dependancy.

Anyway just a day really isn't enough time to visit... but that said we had a great time. A nice walk around the harbour, Victor Hugo's house, and the German Underground Museum... all in a day!!! |
