CIVITAS IN BELLO ET PACE FIDELIS "Faithful in Peace and In War", well, I think it's roughly translates like that. The title Faithful City dates back to English Civil War when Worcester was staunchly allied to the monarchy at the time. The English Civil War ended at the Battle Of Worcester September 3rd 1651, one of the major Battles of the Civil War which was fought just south of the City at Powick. Worcester now is a thriving City within the Midlands of the UK. It's historic heritage makes this a superb place to visit. Even if history isn't your thing there's still plenty to do... Excellent restaurants, pubs, walks and shopping... A great base to visit nearby places such as Malvern, Cheltenham, Birmingham and Stratford on Avon. I've lived here all my life so know the City very well. Visit for a weekend break... You won't be disapointed |
