This was the view from my helicopter as 2 geologists collected samples of "dirt" from eskers about 100 klicks south of Kuglugtuck. They were looking for G10 garnet, a gemstone that accompanies diamonds.

Inuit in Kuglugtuk skinning seals on the side of the road. Seals really smell bad when this is being done to them, really bad.

Friend of mine, on a rope ladder below a Bell Jet Ranger in the ''70's, took a hammer to Mount Wright to collect a few really nice garnets. ps: about the seal skinning . . have you ever heard that Kabloonaqs smell really bad to the Inuit? lol
