Tijuana, my hometown

by mikarov99 - last update: Jun 2, 2009

The city of constrasts.

This is my city where i am born and i live. This city has a constrasts have some tourist places, and other are not all touristy. many consider the city like of step and avoid, but I believe that they to see something but that what all see. Unfortunaly the crime and corrupt police officers add bad image to Tijuana, but one thing its true crime aganist tourist still rare there very few cases per year but you need be careful, take precautions.

LAST NOTICE:
The situation has been improvished alot but at some parts of Tijuana specially outskirts in the eastern and southern suburbs of the city still the crime problem, (generally these parts are not frecuented by tourists).

If you decide go to flashy or trendy nightclubs dont go alone (specially if you are a male, and be wary about dating girls at these places ask if she dont have a boyfirend).

Rember is very important have ID or Passport on hand if you are stopped by police when you are foot you can be arrested if you dont have a ID.
Is a crime for a citizen over 18 if you dont have offical ID (federal credential, driver licence, military documents, passport they work like ID) but never give that documents to the police officer
This some of last spots fot promoting Tijuana

Im proud to be born here

Im saying again im proud to be Tijuanense, i was raised here, maybe Tijuana dont has a lot history, or have the opulence and sostiphication, poor again crime and bad cops give bad images.

Maybe you dont find the real Mexico at first glance but there spcial ocations that you find this specially the day of died and virgin of guadalupe birthday, in many ways we have lot elements of US but same time we are so diferent from Mexicans who live in the US.

And to add flavor Tijuana has a lot of people who come from anther parts of Mexico specially from Sonora, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Michoacan, Mexico city, Oaxaca, Southern Baja california and Veracruz and some from anther countries like china, Guatemala, France, Spain, Lebanon, Iraq, Japan, Korea, India plus more.
