Note: Since our recent visit to California, I've decided to rewrite my original page from 1999. If this looks familiar, it probably is!
Our first venture into California was to La Jolla in 1999 to join our son's family for a get together. Although they live in Chile, they were on the West coast because my daugher-in-law had been invited to teach a course at a college nearby. At the time, she was a teacher at the University of Chile.
We stayed in LaJolla and traveled to San Diego for a day of sightseeing while we were visiting. If memory serves me correctly, we only stayed four days. During that time we all drove to the Temecula Valley to see wine country, stopping at a few sights along the way.
Recently, July 2007, we returned again to California. This time to San Francisco, then into Sonoma County to see more of wine country and the Redwoods. Our final destination was Yosemite National Park, which was gorgeous!

You love San Diego for all the same reasons that I do. I appreciate hearing your insights and seeing your lovely photographs. I think it's always good to go back to renew your views the first time you were there. |
