Hotel Santa Cruz

When we travel to the Colchagua area of Chile it's to spend time at the Hotel Santa Cruz. Colchagua is approximately two hours from Santiago. We've lodged here twice and enjoyed it immensely each visit.

The air conditioned rooms were elegantly appointed. A heavy blue tapesty spread lay on the bed with a fluffy white duvet beneath. Colorful ochre paint warmed up the walls and French doors opened to a wrought iron balcony which overlooked the vine covered dining area and lagoon style pool. A visit here can be the most romantic indulgence or a fantastic family stay.

A new restaurant and additional hotel rooms were being constructed when we lodged here last. Wine tours can be scheduled from the hotel.

A Vine-Covered Dining Room

We loved having our meals in the outdoor dining area. It was perfect since we were traveling with children. Whenever one of them would get antsy, only a few steps separated us from the gardens. We requested that the children be served first, so that while they were on dessert we were finishing up our entrees. Our meals were great and something to everyone's taste was available on the menu.

Lagoon Style Pool

The pool area was beautifully kept, offering plenty of chaise lounges stationed beneath shade trees. Attentive waiters scurried to serve drinks to those who were thirsty. One need not leave the pool to be served, though, just casually drift over to the pool bar for refreshment!
