Updates and Travel Notes....

St. Remy, France
September/October 2009 We've just returned from an early anniversary cruise to Spain, Italy and France. My first pages to be completed are EZE, FRANCE; ST. REMY DE PROVENCE, FRANCE and CAPRI,ITALY and POMPEII, ITALY. Visit my BARCELONA, SPAIN page which is on its way to being finished. I suspect it will take me a while longer to complete Nice, France and Rome, Italy. However, if you'd like to peek at my pictures on those sites, please do so!

NOTE:Some of my recent travel pages added but not completed DO already have videos attached to them. Please stop by!

August 2009 I've just added some further tips to my newest page--Israel. Check out: Things to Do, Restaurants, and Customs. I would love you to stop! In May, I returned full of falafel's and enamored with the beauty of this country!

Also, please see my Gettysburg & Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania plus Cape May, New Jersey pages for new tips. As often as we have visited these three locales, we can still find new things to do!

April 2009 NATCHEZ, MISSISSIPPI has a wealth of antebellum homes and we recently toured some of these historic structures. The Mistress of Hawthorne and others welcomed us to their historic homes on the Natchez Pilgrimage route.

March 2009 DALLAS BLOOMS is a colorful event featuring glorious Spring flowers and heavenly scents--see my travelogue, updated info. and new Things to Do tip on my Dallas, Texas page.

Kimbell Museum's ART AND LOVE in Renaissance Italy was an exquisite exhibit, worthy of all the fanfare and definitely requiring a visit! See two new and one updated Things to Do tips on my Ft. Worth, Texas page.

I've added a new General tip and travelogue to my New Orleans page called RAZZLE DAZZLE. In case you've ever wondered...what exactly ARE pralines(?) see my expanded shopping tip.

November 2008: Our thoughts return again and again to New Orleans where we experienced the appeal of this unique CAJUN city. The flamboyant history of the French Quarter, the sugary beginets at Cafe du Monde and architectural beauty of Jackson Square all held sway over us. We were entranced!

A Fall road trip with my Mom through Amish country was a lovely time to travel the country roads of Pennsylvania. We threaded our way through Volant, New Wilmington, Mercer and Slippery Rock. Before returning to Texas, we included a half day in Old Economy Village, a former pietist settlement located in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.

September 2008: Our Texas vt meet was a wonderful opportunity to meet about 20 fellow vter's from our state and beyond--unfortunately I accidentally erased all my pictures, but we had a great time!

June 2008: A vacation in Oahu this summer was a journey into 'paradise'--the solemnity of Pearl Harbor, exquisite beaches, a verdant countryside and the ever present mountains. We covered quite a bit of territory! I didn't want to leave! Please stop by....

PERSONAL TIDBITS

Most of my family lives in Pennsylvania, but some are in Chile, too.

I love cruising!

I am really fond of CATS!

I'm an avid reader--mostly nonfiction books about historic figures and history.

My husband and I enjoy smooth jazz.

I putter at freelance writing.

When we visited Pablo Neruda's homes in Chile (Valparaiso, Santiago and Isla Negra)--I found myself wishing that I could absorb some of his creativity!

I like visiting small towns, museums and art galleries!

We love to travel, especially on the weekends--it doesn't always have to be far. Researching the internet for our next vacation is exhilarating.

I journal when we travel and often collect matchboxes since it's a good way to gather pertinent information.
Very Happy Pittsburghers!

THE SUPER BOWL & THE STANLEY CUP IN 2009!

Congratulations to the Pittsburgh Steelers, champions of the 2009 Super Bowl! Coming originally from the Pittsburgh area, we can't help but celebrate their victory wholeheartedly. GO STEELERS--for the most Super Bowl wins in history...six!!

I am also happy to congratulate the Pittsburgh Penguins for a superb job winning The Stanley Cup their third time...1991, 1992 and now 2009. We are so proud!!!!!!!!!

Veronica, thanks for the visit to Lake Forest and to the Chicago restaurants. If you saw the movie "Ordinary People" directed by Robert Redford...it was filmed in Lake Forest.
