If you are going with a bunch of friends and just want to be cheap. Stay here, it's at a walking distance from the Strip. Just right next to San Remo. Anyway you won't be at the hotel that much.

MGM has become my favorite choice when I go to Vegas. They have an amazing customer service. They think about keeping their guests the whole time. Last time I checked out I got a big bunch of discounts, I stayed in one of the suites and and the end it cost me around 100 dolars for 4 nights.
I also got a letter once from them apologizing because their pool which was being mantained. I never noticed it because I didn't go to the pool; although, they gave me a couple of tickets to go and see La Femme. (You gotta see that show)
MGM was the largest hotel in the world, I don't know if it still is. Believe me, you can spend a whole day just checking it out.

Unique Qualities: It is the best connection center!! The Metrorail starts from the MGM!! And thakes you to Bally's.
