the most common and involuntary negative externality Singapore is subjected to annually. The haze arising from rampant, uncontrolled forest fires in Indonesia. Its really bad, especially this week (7Oct2006), smell of smoke unescapable.
i'm a teenager hailing from Singapore!! yeah. Enrolling in college and awaiting life's thrilling experiences. More than just the suicidal education structure that Singaporeans face. :) more to come in the near future.
my pages are in shambles due to lack of organisational efforts.
i feel blessed to be living in the small island city of Singapore which boasts to be a nation with political stability and more than often, a green nation. i thank God for He has placed me in this nation, that He has protected the nation thus far and has planted Singapore to be a voice globally, albeit its size.
Being both a youth worker and a student, i get to interact with many young Singaporeans and be involved in their lives. Singaporeans are a mixed bunch of people, in as many aspects as you can list down. A perfect illustration will be the famous local food savoured by many - indian rojak. Although the Singaporean history is not as rich as others, but the different cultures arising from the four main races of Singaporeans ( Indian, Malay, Eurasians, Chinese) that is present in Singapore contain the uniqueness of Singapore.
Getting out of Singapore and exploring other cultures is always a rewarding experience. Especially being able to be exposed to the lives of other global citizens with their own uniqueness, that is the most fulfilling experience for me in an overseas trip. |
