The castle. The bridge. The clock. The beer. The music. The art. Old Town. The girls. Prague is a city that has a lot going for it. So much so that shortly after arriving I made plans to leave. Not because I disliked it, but because I felt if I stayed longer than a few days I might never want to leave. In the end, four days was enough. Not because I grew tired of Prague, but because I had grown tired of the commercialization of it and the hordes of other tourists. Prague is a perfect example of a place ruined by its own popularity. It’s still a wonderful place to visit, but it is much less than what it could be and probably what it once was. |

Bwana_Brown Thu Jun 28, 2007 19:29 UTC I had to laugh at the accuracy of your Charles Bridge tip! I'm surprised to see you at all back in civilization! Nice tip on the climb up St. Vitus Cathedral’s Great Tower too - reminded me of the much shorter Belem Tower climb in Lisbon. |
