Torn by War, Built by Solideré

Beirut, Lebanon... I thought I'd never get to see the place due to the recent war that took place. Obviously, the city wasn't fully destroyed like the news made it out. The only affected area's were in the southern region of the city. Hamra was unaffected by the physical damage. Peering out my hotel window, I had a wonderful view of the Mediterranean Sea and the port's which were still closed off.

Beirut is a modern city with all sorts of things to do. While it's no Los Angeles, Beirut bosts many things for locals, business people, and tourists alike. My only regret is that I didn't get to stay longer.

Fluctuating Weather

This was the only sunny day I had in Beirut. The days before this were very cloudy and at times rainy. Surprisingly, it was also very cold out.

Here's a photo of a port just before the Corniche begins.

Military Presence

Apparently, there was some kind of explosion in the city the second day I was there but I didn't hear anything of it. It seems as if the locals didn't hear anything either. I got the news long after leaving Lebanon while back in Syria. That's why the military presence suddenly increased those two days!
