Budapest, Hungary is in fact two cities in the place of one. Buda, the former Turkish capital and Pest, the highly developed, commercialized side, divided by the Danube River. Choose to stay on the Buda (Castle side) at the majestic Gellert Hotel and get a massage or take a dip in the Turkish thermal baths. Take the funicular up Castle Hill and enjoy the magnificent views from the Castle. Cross the Chain Bridge and visit the impressive Parliament building or stop by a cafe by the riverside.

Although the city is frequently mobbed by tourists, do not let that detract from your experience . In many respects, Budapest, is quite rich in history and exudes a romance all its own. Be sure to take a nice romantic walk by the river Danube at night. Or take in the views of the city lights from atop Gellert Hill.
