Amsterdam is one of the few places where you can do almost anything you can't do anywhere else. NO HARD DRUGS! As the signs which are posted everywhere let you know. In all honesty my friends and I went to Amsterdam because we could smoke and try different drugs, but it gets pretty old pretty fast. None of us were habitual smokers or used drugs. The red light district is grimey during the evenings and almost beautiful in the mornings, especially when you have a view of the canal from a smoke shop. Do not go to Amsterdam expecting great things. It is by far one of the places I would tell anyone to visit, highly reccomended, but for its nature, and not for its sights. Mind you there is the Van Gogh Museum and many other attractions, but none can accomplish the daunting task of surpassing the primary attraction of visitors (Drugs and sex).
