Incredible India!

by June.b - last update: Nov 11, 2006

Incredible indeed!

Fascinating sights, warm people, diverse culture...anything & everything... a full world of its own....... INDIA!

First stop --- NEW DELHI

As usual, felt unease and apprehensive of whatever normal hassles from the time I arrive at the airport until I reach the hotel.

Arrived early in the morning at the Indira Gandhi International Airport after an almost 8 hour flight including the stopover in-between and the first big hassle of losing my return ticket at the stopover city.

I booked my hotel online which inludes a free pick-up at the airport. The queue at the immigration was long and I was practically sandwiched/squeezed in between two bodies of locals and so do everybody else. They're avoiding other people getting in the queue, so it's like, my back is being pressed by someone else's front and mine into someone else's back. Passed the immigration after more than an hour without any hassle. Came out to find the driver waving the placard with my name on it. Turned out to be a "welcome" personnel who called the real driver who came in in no time at all. With much traffic and honking of vehicles who wants to overtake each other and an almost one hour or so of driving that scares the sleepy hell out of me, we arrived at the hotel. Looks like the electricity is not working, with a very ample lighting at the lobby. So I checked in and that was the prologue of my whole travel story in this fascinating planet called ... India.

Tiring too!

New Delhi was so tiring, with a humid weather in September, didn't stay much to see places around, so after the Agra tour, I proceeded to Bangalore .

The photo on the side is taken at the Gateway of India in Mumbai and the background is the expensive yet very grand Taj Mahal Hotel.

Next stop....

As culturally diverse as the whole country itself - Mumbai

The pic on the side is the stunning grand gate of the Taj Mahal.
