This is a place that is still pristine. Still not overrun by the hordes. Temple hounds will drool over the selection of wonders here. The people are gentle and friendly, the food is good, and there is plenty to see.
On a visit to Cambodia, it's hard to imagine the horrors that happened here not so long ago. Genocide, famine, and guerrilla warfare are something these people have endured. Now there is a feeling of a new hope. The people seem ready and willing to move on to something better. You have to admire their strength and spirit.

Great tips and photos on a simple, yet fascinating, place. Best from New Jersey, Bill
yet another great page! where did you learn to take photographs like that?! teach me, please!!! :)
One day I will get here to see it all for myself :)
yes, i do agree >> photo-nut :) but a picture can describe more than thousand words, eric ... that's pretty correct!!! sure someday you should visit karimunjawa. and speaking about your siem reap pictures >> 2 thumbs up!!!!
Nice work Eric. We were there when the causeway to Angkor Wat wasn't yet restored as shown in your photo of it. Pol Pot was still alive, and tourist were very few. Good to learn that Cambodia isn't yet completely over run by tourism.
