There are a lot of lakes, forests and fields around the city. It's pretty easy to get there by car, bus or train. You can relax, fishing, making BBQ etc outdoors and you don't need any permission from the local authority.

Just Lenin

You can find many architectural extravagances of the communist. Many of them were built in 1920-1930. they have been almost destroyed in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but you can see a lot of them in Kazan. For example, this building was build in early XX. Now it is the local authority building of the little village near the Kazan. The monument of Lenin in front of it still shows to people the way to the bright tommorow.

A small SPA hotel in the forest

During 2006-2007 a great ammount of hotels were built in the city and around it. You can stay at 5 star hotels in dowtown, but in my opinion, it is better to book a room in little hotel. The service standarts is pretty good here and, certainly, there is no problem with transportation.

People hurry up early morning in December

The Russian winter is not so terrible as you can hear about it. Moreover, this is some kind of great experience. Kazan is not Siberia. The winter is pretty mild here.

A small river

It is the season of swimming in the rivers and lakes during May-August in Kazan. The small rivers and lakes are not dangerous for this in comparison with big rivers Volga and Kazanka in Kazan. These both are pretty dirty with industrial sewages.

The nature around the rivers and lakes is amazing in summer and fall.

The bungalow on the bank of river Volga.

Many city-dwellers have got small bungalows in suburbs. They spend a lot of time growing vegetables, meeting with friends, drinking beer and vodka during summer days. If you ever visit the one of this, it would perfect to visit russian sauna (banya) that is almost in all bungalows.

The winter road

The car driving in the suburbs during winters gives me a lot of pleasure. Look at this pictures! Isn't it a magic?
