"Mammoth" Mammoth Lakes by malianrob

It has been a few months since I had gone anywhere and I was aching to get on the road again. This time it was destination: Mammoth. Crew: Rob, Me, Danny, Estella, Koa, Nickolas and Meliah.
I love Mammoth but I also love the drive to Mammoth. I really enjoy going through these little towns like Lone Pine, Mojave, Bishop, Independence, Olancha, and Big Pine. It's like a totally different world. The Times once said that "the impression of the Northbound traveler along US 395 is that one is heading back in time".

Mammoth is nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and is Californias highest ski area. Also, has one of the longest seasons in the world: from November until about June or July. Mammoth Mountain averages nearly 30 feet of snow per year!

I usually come up to Mammoth in the winter so that the family can snowboard but theres tons to do in the Spring, Summer and Fall.

We found a great little lodge to stay at, with a creek and fishing. On top of that it was very inexpensive to stay there.
