I put this on my Negril page but its more like Middle Quarters on the South Coast of the island.
From what I was told, the bamboo was planted here during the early 20th century. Its about 2 1/2 miles long and was planted here to give shade from the hot sun to the sugar cane workers. Its not a real big deal but if you are in the area check it out. It looks like a tunnel made of Bamboo. It looks pretty cool.
Address: Middle quarters
Directions: A2 north from Black River
This isnt exactly in Negril, its more on the South Coast of the island. Its is closer to Negril than to Montego Bay or Ocho Rios. You can also do a day trip out of Ys Falls, The Appleton Rum Estate, Bambo Avenue and Black River. Yes, all this can be done in one day.
These are eight falls separated by pools of beautiful fresh water. You can climb these falls to but its not as slippery as Dunns Falls because you climb on the outside of the falls. They have built stairs for you to climb up. These falls will actually be better for kids.
The entrance fee is about $15 usd and they are openned from Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30am- 3:30pm.
When we first arrived we paid our entrance fee then went on a long tractor that took us through acres of privately owned land called YS estate. It is so beautiful. There were horses, and cows and rivers and beautiful landscape. There are also clean bathrooms, changing rooms and lockers.
I really liked this place, I think I liked it better than Dunns Falls. But really, both were beautiful.
Directions: North of Highway A2 and East after you leave the town of Middle Quarters.

I have a thing about lighthouses so I made Rob take me here after we had a few drinks at Ricks Cafe. I didnt realize how close we were to the Lighthouse until we got to Ricks and as we were watching the cliff divers I saw the lighthouse in the distance.
The Lighthouse is at the westernmost tip of Jamaica and it stands about 100ft tall.
We walked all the way over here from our hotel in Negril. It was a long walk but it was also very nice. We also got a chance to get away from all the vendors on the beach.
Address: West End Road then becomes Lighthouse Road
I put Rick's Cafe under things to do rather than place to eat because the food wasnt too good but it was a cool place to hang out at, have some drinks, and watch the cliff divers. We went during the day in the afternoon. there were quite a few people and we got a nice view of everything by finding seat right in the front. There were two cliff divers doing their thing and a few tourist who chose to jump too.
This is actually a very popular place to go to in the evening around sunset. This place gets really packed with people and the drinks are flowing and there is alot of action with the cliff divers.
We walked here feom our hotel in Negril. At first we were just going into town then we started walking thinking it would be closer. It turned out to be a ways away. We walked the whole way there and it was good exercise but on the way back we took a taxi.
The cliff divers expect a tip if they jump. If you choose to jump too, expect to give a tip to jump also.
I liked this place and if we had more time, I would have spent more time here or came back. The atmosphere is very relaxing, no vendors to bother you, drinks are great and not too expensive.
You have to go check it out. Outs of fun
Address: West end road
Directions: Open at noon til 10:30pm for food, and til 2pm for drinks
They do accept credit cards too.

We did the black River safari tour by total chance. I wasnt on the top of our list but our driver Lee said we could do this tour, the waterfall tour and the Rum tour all in one day because it is on the same part of the island so we said ok.
It was about an hour long and pretty interesting. I was surprised to see the crocodiles here because I didnt know they had any. Also it seems like the Crocs like to hang out in the same spots all the time because the Tour guides driving the boats knew exactly where to go to find them. They even named all of them. Since the weather is warm the croc come out pretty far. It was very interesting. We also saw different types of birds and local plants. Dont ask me names because I dont remember.
