Luxor is an amazing place, it has been popular since tourism ever began. Going to Luxor is like going back in time, everything is calm & its like being behind 100 years.
You can watch families play by the River Nile whilst the mothers wash there clothes in the Nile & there are many old houses & you can watch people cook in the old clay pots.
Luxor is famous for Howard Carter's discovery of the Tomb of King Tutankhamun. The city has everything you would expect in any tourist resort such as a variety of hotels, bars, nightclubs and restaurants & cafes.
I enjoyed visiting the Tombs of Tutankhamun & also the Statues of Memnon & both the Temples at Luxor. I would love to return to Luxor sometime & meet up with some of the lovely people i met there. Le Meridien Hotel here in Luxor is to die for, its an absolutely gorgeous hotel & id recommend it to anyone looking for luxury & also great views of the Nile. |

sachara Sun May 13, 2007 14:30 UTC Hi Stacey, thanks for dropping by my Luxor page. Yes it a very interesting place. The hot air balloon ride looks great. I didn't know it was possible to see the west bank that way. A pity you didn't do it yourself. | CandS Wed Nov 23, 2005 15:42 UTC Great tips and photos!!! We were in Egypt last month and loved it!!!!
