Mount Tabor (1,843 feet high) is an isolated mountain in Lower Galilee, with unique shape(rounded dome) that caught the attention of Christians and made it one of the holiest sites in the Holy Land.
According to Christian tradition Mount Tabor is the place of Transfiguration.
The Franciscan church on the summit was built between 1921-1925, was designed by Italian architect Antoni Barluzzi, in the form of the Byzantine basilica that stood there before. The rock floor of the crypt is believed to be the spot on which Jesus stood during his transfiguration.

Floating on Dead-Sea water
The Dead Sea and its region is very much ALIVE, 400m below sea level at the lowest point on the earth's surface, a part of the Syrian-East African Rift Valley.
This extremely saline lake, fed mainly by the Jordan river in the north and by springs and streams from the east and west.
Having no outlet, the Dead Sea is a terminal lake (for now, there are colossal plans to dig a canal to Red Sea though) which loses great amounts of water by evaporation into the hot dry air (Judean Desert in western side).
Plants growing in lakeside oases of Judean Desert (balsam tree is most well-known), produce cosmetics, perfumes and medicinal substances. Their value were of such great economic importance that armies fought for possession of it. Marcus Anthonius (Roman military commander and administrator), for example, took the Dead Sea area just to transfer it to his lover, Queen Cleopatra VII of Egypt.
The most expensive and valuable perfumes in the ancient Roman world were imported from Masada area.
