Used in the final sequence of the film 'Indiana Jones' and 'the Last Crusade', this towering facade is only the first of Petra's secrets. Various walks and climbs reveal hundreds of buildings, facades, tombs, baths and haunting rock drawings and reliefs. Back to Khazneh, The urn perched at the top of Khazneh was believed to hold countless treasures, gold and precious jewels, hence the monument's name. Inspired by classical Hellenistic architecture, the Khazneh's facade is 30m wide and 43m high; carved in the first century BC as a tomb for a Nabataean king, some scholars believe it was later used as a temple.
