"First visit to Stirling" Stirling by clivedinburgh

With my girlfriends birthday approaching, I had a look around various websites for last minute deals on hotels within a short drive of Dunfermline and the Queens Hotel in Bridge of Allen seemed to fit the bill.

So last weekend I collected Fiona after her last day at work (before maternity leave) then headed off towards the West through some torrential rain. The weather if anything cemented my feelings that having booked a weekend special, we wouldn't have to rush from hotel to restaurant/pub/etc. The rain even eased off as I pulled into the hotel carpark!

Check-in was very smooth then we were shown to our excellent room. We had a few hours to relax and get ready for our dinner and when we headed downstairs to the restaurant we were surprised at the spaciously laid out room.

The meal and service were superb and I would definitely go back to use the restaurant. Afterwards, Fiona had a delicious "mocktail" and we headed through to the busy main bar for a while before heading back for a pregnancy induced early night.

The next morning we ordered breakfast which was delivered to our room and we sat at the window complete with a sunny view South towards Stirling Castle.

We checked out late morning and headed into town for a look round.
